Abstract

You'll leave this session with a handful of theatre-based activities that you can immediately use with your English learners. You'll learn about the benefits of using drama games to encourage even the shyest students to speak up. You'll explore how drama techniques can be beneficial for trainee teachers as well as teambuilding between staff members. You'll also get an insight into the active workshops our native British theatre facilitators run in secondary schools across Belgium and Luxembourg, from escape rooms exploring British food and British landmarks to improvisation, Shakespeare and teacher training days.

Biography

Abbie Moore is the founder of Hello Drama. Hello Drama comprises a team of British native theatre facilitators and qualified English teachers, who deliver inspiring and playful English-language workshops in secondary schools across Belgium. The workshops are packed with active theatre games and creative language activities, designed to boost the confidence of students learning English as a second language. Abbie also designs courses for students training to be English teachers and in-school staff teambuilding days.
Abbie has the highest grade of bachelor's degree in Performing Arts from Bath Spa University (UK) and a Pass A CELTA qualification.
She has designed and delivered workshops for thousands of young people and adults from more than 20 different countries.
