MISSION

The Belgian English Language Teachers Association (BELTA) is a non-profit organization for teachers of English in Belgium. We are an IATEFL Associate, allowing us to network with 100+ teaching associations and EFL teachers the world over.

We seek to encourage the professional development of English language teachers in Belgium by offering possibilities for discussion and the exchange of ideas and experience through face-to-face events, online events and digital materials.

FACE-TO-FACE EVENTS

BELTA has offered and continues to offer a variety of face-to-events for English professionals in Belgium. Our premiere event is the annual BELTA Day conference, which is usually held in the spring of the academic year. Over the years, this conference has grown considerably. Recently, we have seen over 150+ delegates attend along with 25-30 nationally and internationally recognised speakers and a variety of publishers of EFL materials.

BELTA has also offered social gatherings in the past, including a well-attended 'English Beer Night' in Leuven.

For more information, check our current BELTA Day page and BELTA Day archive.

ONLINE EVENTS

Since its inception, BELTA has strived to present webinars and online conferences in which Belgian and teachers worldwide could participate in professional development. To date, we have offered TWO summer online conferences with TESL Toronto, a half-day joint event with TESOL Greece and another with EFL Talks, and 60+ one-hour webinars.

You can view any of our previous online events in the ONLINE EVENTS ARCHIVE.
