BELTA Partners

BELTA is proud to work with various organisations to meet our mission and goals to develop professional development for English Language Teaches in Belgium. Here is a list of our partners that we are presently working with. You can also meet our partners at our Annual Conference.

Teaching Associations

We are an associate member of IATEFL, The International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language. BELTA participates yearly in the IATEFL Conference by attending the Associates Day and by sending BELTA members to the conference to participate and to present.

We partner with two IATEFL associate members - IATEFL Poland and TESOL Greece. With our partnership agreements, our associations can exchange speakers at annual conferences and swap articles for our individual journals. In the past, we have been fortunate to have speakers from both associations at our conferences, and previously, late Board Member Joris De Roy attended the IATEFL Poland Conference while this year present Board Member, Rianne Ariëns will represent BELTA at the TESOL Greece annual conference.

Organisations that promote English languge teaching

We proudly work with three organisations that promote English language teaching in Belgium and around the world. We promote and share each other's events and all three are present at BELTA Day to share their expertise in the field of teaching English.

  • British Council: The British Council offers a variety of services to support English teachers, including professional development opportunities and English language testing.

  • Fulbright Belgium: A branch of the US Department of State, Fulbright provides a number of workshops for students seeking to further their education in The United States and grants to Belgian teachers and students to participte in events/workshops/academies in the United States.

  • De Taalsector: De Taalsector is a Belgian platform that facilitates the cooperation between language professionals, thereby enhancing the position of the language sector as a part of the economy and raising public awareness of the importance of language.
BELTA and BELTA Day have both been nominated for Language Industry Awards in the past.
