Getting to the Venue

The conference will be held at Erasmushogeschool – Campus Bloemenhof, which is a university college located in the centre of Brussels. We are housed on the 3rd and 4th floors of the building, which is located on the Zespenningenstraat / Rue des Six Jetons 70, 1000 Brussels.

Here is a link to the location of the campus on Google Maps and is a PDF document (from the school) with travelling directions.

If you are coming to the conference by train, which we recommend, you can get off at Central Station in Brussels. The venue is about a 10-minute walk from the Central Station.
If you are coming by bus, by metro or by car, then find more info here.

Please note: there is no parking available at the venue.

Arriving at the Venue

When you arrive at the venue, there will be a volunteer to greet you and point you in the right direction.

Checking-in

The check-in opens at 8:00. Upon arriving in the building, you will be met with the check-in tables and some of our wonderful volunteers. Here you will receive your name badge, your programme, and your gift bag. Then head up to the Exhibition Hall on the 4th floor (accessible by elevator) for some coffee.

BELTA Day 2018 - The schedule

The complete schedule for the day is available in PDF format in the attachment at the bottom of this page.

Official Opening & First Plenary

The conference begins with an official opening at 9:00. The Plenary room is located on the 3rd floor. The doors to the plenary room will open around 8:45.

Scott Thornbury’s first plenary will begin promptly at 9:15.

Partners & Publishers

Our various partners and publishers will be housed in the coffee/lunch area on the 4th floor. Make sure you stop up and see them. They love to interact with all of you.

AM & PM Breakout Sessions

All break-out rooms are located on the 3rd floor. Make sure you plan your travel time carefully. There is no pre-registration for sessions, so seats are available on a first-come basis. If there is a session you really need to see, get there early.

There are three double-sessions offered during the day: two before lunch and one after lunch; please plan accordingly. If you begin at a double-session, we ask that you do not leave in the middle or come in to the session in the middle.

Make sure you check out the schedule (see the link below) and plan your day accordingly. COMING SOON: The ‘Meet The Speakers’ page, where you can find detailed information about each session, will be published in a couple of weeks. You can use this page to help you decide which of the amazing 19 break-out sessions you will attend!

Lunch

Lunch will be served on the 4th floor. There will be a variety of sandwiches and wraps, including some for vegetarians.

Second Plenary & Raffle

After the afternoon break-out sessions, we will gather for Scott Thornbury’s final plenary in the same room we used in the morning. Right after this plenary, we will stay in this room for the raffle featuring wonderful prizes donated by our ELT exhibitors, and a chance to win THE JORIS DE ROY MEMORIAL TRAVEL GRANT to IATEFL 2019 in Liverpool. You won’t want to miss out on a chance to go home with an extra gift!

International delegates & speakers

There are plenty of hotels in all price ranges near the venue.
