Interactive fanfiction: innovating creative writing in the communicative classroom

Length: 40 minutes
Audience focus: Teachers of adolescent leaners, Teachers of adult learners

If you are looking for ways to innovate the teaching of literary texts through differentiation and technology, then this session is for you.
It will familiarize you with fanfiction and interactive fiction, forms of creative writing that are popular in the ‘digital wilds’.
We will show how practices from fanfiction and interactive fiction can stimulate your students’ motivation and learning in the communicative language classroom, in particular for creative writing tasks. We build on lessons learned and free materials developed in the Erasmus+ project FanTALES.
