Student-centred activities to consolidate lexis

Audience focus:

  • Teachers of young learners
  • Teachers of adolescent learners
  • Teachers of adult learners
  • Teacher trainers

Abstract

It is all very well writing a new word up on the board and getting the students to record in their notebooks. However, without regular consolidation and repetition this new language will simply go through one ear and out of the other. In this fun, interactive workshop I will present a variety of ways to help consolidate lexis and make sure that it stays retained in the student's lexical mind bank.
