Audience focus:
This practice-oriented workshop addresses the development of student empathy in secondary school contexts as a core pedagogical and classroom management competence. Rather than framing empathy as an affective or therapeutic intervention, the session positions it as a strategic tool that supports teacher authority, student engagement, and effective behavior management. Through brief experiential activities, structured language frameworks, and scenario-based practice drawn from authentic secondary classroom situations, participants examine how empathetic responses can reduce conflict, de-escalate challenging behaviors, and promote a positive learning climate. The workshop emphasizes immediacy of application and cross-curricular relevance, offering teachers concrete strategies that can be integrated into everyday teaching and discipline practices.
