Abstract

You'll leave this session with an insight into the escape room style theatre workshops that Hello Drama’s British facilitators deliver in secondary schools across Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. You’ll experience the benefits of combining drama activities with an escape room concept to encourage even the shyest students to speak up. There are codes to crack, criminals to find and you never know, there may even be a saboteur amongst us! This will be an active workshop in which participants will take part in some of the challenges themselves – after all, why should the students have all the fun? Laughter is pretty much guaranteed…

Biography

Abbie Moore is the founder of Hello Drama. Hello Drama provides inspiring and playful English-language workshops in secondary schools across Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. The workshops are run by British native speakers who are trained in theatre as well as English language teaching. The workshops are packed with active theatre games and creative language activities, designed to boost the confidence of students learning English as a second language.
Abbie also designs courses for students training to be English teachers and in-school staff teambuilding days. Abbie has the highest grade of bachelor's degree in Performing Arts from Bath Spa University (UK) and a Pass A CELTA qualification. Over the last 3 years, Abbie has delivered workshops for over 6000 secondary school students who are learning English as a second language.
